Buying Hay Can Seem Like A Crap Shoot

If you are new to livestock that requires hay throughout the winter, you may be taking a guess on how much they need and then scrambling to get it.

If you're wrong, you may not be able to get hay for them.

This hay calculator really helps get a solid estimate of how much hay you need to buy, cut or store for your animals.

How It Works

Simply put your animals weight in the first column. Then add the percentage of body weight you want them to eat, for example 3% is .03. Finally, you place how many days you anticipate feeding them hay in the third column.

The fourth column will tell you how many pounds of hay you need for that particular animal.

There are 10 rows added to the calculator. We will combine the bucks into one row or mommas and babies into one row. This helps get a total that I can see and aim for.
